About me
Óscar A. Montiel — interactive media artist, teacher, and creative developer, working as Animanoir.
My work moves between interactive installations, generative sound, video games, and videoart. Voz y Movimiento, an installation that keeps speaking only while its audience does, was commissioned by the Galería Municipal de Querétaro for the exhibition “Génesis” (2023) and featured on CreativeApplications.net. En todos lados al final del tiempo, a videogame about forgetting, was developed with a PECDA Querétaro grant.
Teaching is part of the practice. In 2024 I led “Auroras Digitales”, a 15-session Max/MSP workshop on interactive visuals for Casa del Lago, UNAM, where students built installations, generative music, and live visuals. In 2025 I taught an introduction to Pure Data at FLISoL Querétaro, a festival of libre software—as much about the philosophy of open tools as about the patching itself.
Available for studio roles, freelance, and commissions.
